Scott Button is a Managing Director of Venture Investors LLC and has been a member of the firm since 1996.
Scott heads the Venture Investors Information Technology practice and is responsible for creating and managing
Venture Investors' entrepreneur-in-residence program, the Venture Igniter Program. He serves as the firm's
entrepreneur-in-residence for the Information Technology practice.
Scott serves on the Board of Directors of Soft Switching Technologies Corporation.
He also serves as a board observer for Alfalight, Inc. and Virent Energy Systems, Inc. He also has served as past board observer for NewMonics, Inc., and
Corona Optical Systems, Inc.
Prior to joining Venture Investors, Scott worked for McDonald's Corporation and Rockwell Automation Inc. He has a
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW-Madison) and a Master
of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.
Scott has worked for the National Science Foundation as a panelist for SBIR grants. He is on the Debt Advisory
Committee for the Madison Development Corporation. He has served as a guest lecturer for the UW-Madison Engineering
and Business Schools, and as a judge for the school's Technology Business Plan Competition and Schoofs Prize
for Creativity.
