Roger founded Venture Investors of Wisconsin, Inc. in 1982. He is a co-founder and Managing Director of Venture Investors LLC.
Roger has extensive experience as a director of portfolio companies and presently serves Chairman of the Board of Directors of Chromatin, Inc. Additionally, he has 25 years of experience in small business financing and ten years experience as owner/manager of small businesses. His experience as a director has ranged from the firm's best performing investments to those transactions that we have deemed "work-outs" where his accomplishments include a stellar return on a portfolio company that had filed for bankruptcy. Roger has used this breadth of experience to mentor and advise the other members of the team in a wide range of issues that they encounter as portfolio company directors.
Roger has a Master's degree from the Rockefeller School at SUNY-Albany and an undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Roger is a Director of: the Medical College of Wisconsin Foundation, University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Foundation, National Association of Investor Corporations-Better Investing, Inc, and the World Federation of Investor Corporations. He is a member of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Translational Research Biomedical Engineering Center Oversight Committee. Roger was the recipient of an Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2001 for his role in the creation of a venture capital industry in Wisconsin.
