Chris Gibbons
Chris currently serves as firm’s Executive in Residence in the Ann Arbor Office.
Prior to joining Venture Investors, Chris served as the CFO of Sensicore, a company with lab-on-a-chip sensor products (acquired by a division of GE). She was formerly the VP of Finance at Ardesta, an investor in “small-tech” opportunities. Previously, Chris was Partner and CFO of Seaflower Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on early-stage biomedical opportunities.
Chris has significant experience in operating, financial and fundraising roles, including venture and debt financings, manufacturing operations, financial management, human resources and administration. Over the past eleven years, she has been an integral part of a team that launched thirteen new companies and raised $62 million in capital.
Prior to Seaflower, Chris served as CFO for MBI International, a biotechnology research institute. Before MBI, she was the controller at Nucleus Corp., a private firm that engineers and builds test equipment, and was an auditor at Ernst & Young.
Chris currently serves as a member of the Investment Review Board for the Michigan Pre-Seed Capital Fund and is a member of the Technical Oversight Committee for the Coulter Program at the University of Michigan. She has been a guest lecturer at Michigan State University’s Business School and Wayne State University’s Entrepreneur Network. Chris holds an MBA from Wayne State University and a BA from Michigan State University.
